BCSD-Taiwan


In December 1995, there was a “Taiwan Business Council for Sustainable Development” formed and attached to the EARTHPLACE Foundation. To enhance the function and enlarge the membership, t he Business Council for Sustainable Development of the Republic of China was officially and independently established on May 16, 1997 . It is a coalition of thirty leading Taiwanese large companies united by a shared commitment to the environment and to the principles of economic growth and sustainable development.

BCSD-Taiwan, ROC focuses on the following four objectives:

  1. To cooperate with enterprises in supporting pertinent national policy, regulations and infrastructure which would ensure economic sustainability while retaining an environmental conscious;
  2. To encourage enterprise to play an increasingly active role in elevating environmental performance and eco-efficiency;
  3. To accumulate relevant environmental protection and natural resource information for enterprises and public access;
  4. To organize and undertake activities which complement the above objectives.



The Business Social Compliance Initiative is the largest existing business-driven initiative for companies who want to improve the working conditions in their global supply chain. The BSCI is based upon a combination of monitoring and capacity building to ensure sustainable social compliance on the factory floor. The BSCI offers the benefits of a common Code of Conduct and a single implementation procedure with uniform management instruments covering all consumer goods and all sourcing countries. Our membership currently comprises more than 160 members: retailers, importers and brand manufacturers across all sectors such as textile, footwear, furniture, electronics, toys, food...

Established in March 2008, Taiwan Association for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR Taiwan) is an organization for and by the CSR professionals. Our mission is to encourage the corporate Taiwan to take proactive measures on social responsibility and to promote socially responsible investment. CSR Taiwan has continually broken new ground in advising our corporate clients on strategic CSR, reporting, benchmarking, and and ethical supply chain management. We have also been pioneering in working with government agencies on the development of CSR rating and SRI policies in Taiwan.

The Institute of Purchasing & Supply of Hong Kong (IPSHK) was established in 1973. The IPSHK has been a member Association of the International Federation of Purchasing & Supply Management (IFPSM), registered in Switzerland, which consists of 43 professional purchasing associations in 39 countries. IPSHK organizes educational and professional program for its members, including training, conferences, seminars, company visits and study tours from time to time. The Institute organizes diploma and professional diploma program jointly with universities and education institutions. IPSHK has been appointed by the HKSAR Government as a Member of the Logistics Development Council (LOGSCOUNCIL) since its inception in late 2000.

The Purchasing and Supply Association (Singapore) or PASAS is a not-for-profit professional organisation that was established in 2003 for the development of the purchasing and supply profession. PASAS offers educational opportunities and relevant information through a variety of programmes, services and activities. It is accredited by the American Purchasing Society, the American Certification Institute, and the International Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Institute.
